Day Two is a free rehearsal night giving actors the increasingly rare chance to get on their feet and explore a whole play together.
Think run club for actors: no teaching, directing or feedback, and nothing to prove.
We cast the play, get on our feet and work through it from beginning to end. Come to stretch yourself, try something different, or simply enjoy discovering a great play with other actors. Casting is flexible, so all we ask is an openness to playing outside your usual range and a spirit of curiosity, play and generosity towards the ensemble.
We can't provide scripts so all we ask is that you beg, borrow or buy the script before you arrive.
Our playing space is 2min walk from Holburn Tube Station.

The Weir

In a rural Irish pub, four local men gather around a newcomer to the area. Over drinks, conversation turns to stories of the supernatural, but as the evening unfolds the storytelling becomes increasingly personal. Funny, atmospheric and ultimately moving, it's a play built around listening, storytelling and the shifting relationships between five people in a room.

When Elsa unexpectedly arrives at their suburban home, and an internet search suggests their new house guest may be considerably more dangerous than she appears, British politeness collides with self-preservation. A fast, escalating comedy about manners, embarrassment and the extraordinary lengths we'll go to avoid being rude.

Three colleagues arrive for a meeting knowing that one of them is about to lose their job. Before their boss even enters the room, alliances form and a vicious contest for survival begins. Darkly funny and increasingly tense, Bull is a razor-sharp exploration of status, power, bullying and the games people play when the stakes suddenly become personal.

A family gathers for Christmas lunch, each arriving with their own tensions, rivalries and carefully developed ways of coping with one another. As the day progresses, the hidden behavioural "rules" governing each character become increasingly apparent, and increasingly difficult to maintain. A playful, dark family comedy that builds from recognisable Christmas tensions towards glorious chaos.
