Andrew is a qualified and ICF credentialed career coach working specifically with creatives. He has studied Career Theory, Coaching and Counselling Psychology at Birkbeck University, London and is a member of the Career Development Institute, UK. As a professional trainer he has over a decade’s experience delivering training and facilitating group learning in both the public & private sectors in areas such as Inclusive Leadership, Domestic Violence & Sexual Harassment Prevention, Presentation Skills and Career Development.

He delivers talks, workshops and group training exploring the challenges creatives face in their careers and the tools that allow for meaningful development, both personally and professionally.

Breaking Ground: Artist Development

Breaking Ground is a pioneering new artist development project designed to give artists the space, strategies and tools to build more sustainable and productive careers in the arts. Using evidence-based approaches to facilitating professional development, this project offers creatives a combination of training, facilitated group discussion, and individual coaching sessions all aimed at increasing personal agency, strategic skills and professional capacity.

Breaking Ground has been developed by Andrew Macklin and is currently run in partnership with Garter Lane Arts Centre, Waterford, Ireland.

Domestic Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Training.

Andrew is a qualified domestic violence prevention trainer and has worked with Tender; a Domestic Violence Charity for over nine years. In this role he has delivered hundreds of trainings, presentations and workshops in corporate, educational and community settings. Tender seeks to end domestic violence by raising awareness of the early warning signs, patterns and impact of emotional, psychological, sexual and physical abuse in intimate partner relationships.


Recent workshop clients include: working with lawyers at Clifford Chance, management at Barclays Bank, staff and students at RADA, social workers, teaching staff & students in mainstream education and with young offenders.
